1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Website Development Programme provided by SKUNKWORK™, a T31N Group company. By engaging our development services, you agree to these terms. If you do not accept these terms, please do not proceed with the service.
2. Our Role
SKUNKWORK™ is your remote creative department, not an agency or freelance marketplace. All websites are developed in-house by our expert Skunks. Our programme includes a structured build process, transparent pricing, milestone-based payments, and compliance with UK laws and data regulations.
3. Development Process
Our development journey is broken into the following stages:
3.1 Online Consultation
We begin with a free remote consultation to understand your goals, target users, and technical needs. This results in a scoping summary.
3.2 Project Proposal & Agreement
Within 24 hours of consultation, you’ll receive a formal proposal including:
- Delivery timeline
- Milestones & payment schedule
- Feature breakdown
- Plugin costs (if any)
A 40% non-refundable deposit is required to commence work.
3.3 Design Phase
We generate design prototypes, branding concepts, and site architecture based on your input. Approval is required before moving to development.
3.4 Development Phase
We build your WordPress site, integrate plugins, and ensure responsive performance across devices.
Upon completion of this phase, 30% of the total fee becomes payable.
3.5 Review & Launch
You’ll be invited to review and request minor adjustments. Final payment (30%) and any plugin fees are due before launch. Once settled, your full website and admin access are handed over.
4. Payment Terms
💳 Structure
- Deposit: 40% non-refundable (to begin the project)
- Development Milestone: 30% (after build, before testing)
- Pre-Launch: 30% + plugin/licensing costs (before handover)
⏰ Late Payments
- Grace Period: 7 days
- Late Fee: 5% added after grace period
- Service Suspension: Enforced at 14 days overdue
- Termination: Project terminated after 30 days of non-payment. All unpaid balances remain due.
5. Fair Usage
Web development deliverables are fixed per your chosen package. Design limits, where applicable, fall under our Fair Usage Policy.
6. Project Revisions
Each package allows for one round of reasonable amends at both the design and pre-launch stages. Excessive or structural changes beyond scope may result in a quote for further work.
7. Client Responsibilities
To keep your timeline intact, you agree to:
- Respond to Skunk queries within 48 hours
- Supply content, media, or branding in a timely fashion
- Approve work within agreed timeframes
- Ensure any materials you provide comply with copyright and privacy laws
Delays caused by client inaction may impact final delivery timeframes.
8. Our Responsibilities
We commit to:
- Delivering the full scope of your selected package
- Informing you promptly of any third-party fees
- Maintaining compliance with GDPR and UK data laws
- Applying best practices in performance, accessibility, and security
We reserve the right to showcase completed sites in our portfolio unless otherwise agreed.
9. Ownership & Intellectual Property
Upon receipt of final payment:
- You own the code, content, and design of your site (excluding third-party software/licenses)
- You will receive full admin credentials and backups
- We retain no control or access unless you retain us for management services
10. Hosting & Domains
- Basic hosting and domain setup are included in all packages unless agreed otherwise.
- You are responsible for ongoing hosting renewals unless on a SKUNKWORK™ subscription.
- Domain ownership is retained by you from day one.
11. Data Protection
- We process all data in compliance with UK GDPR
- Your data is never shared without consent
- You must ensure that any personal data supplied to us for inclusion (e.g., customer testimonials) is GDPR-compliant

12. Termination
12.1 By the Client
You may cancel at any time in writing. You remain liable for:
- The 40% non-refundable deposit
- Any work completed up to the point of termination
We will deliver completed work to date but no further development will take place.
12.2 By SKUNKWORK™
We may terminate the agreement for:
- Non-payment beyond 30 days
- Material breach of these terms
- Abuse, misconduct, or illegal activity
In these cases, all work stops and outstanding fees remain payable.
13. Refunds
There are no refunds on deposits or completed milestone payments. Refunds are only provided in the event of error or overpayment by SKUNKWORK™.
14. Warranties & Disclaimers
Websites are delivered “as is” per the agreed brief. SKUNKWORK™ makes no performance guarantees outside of documented specifications. Issues caused by client software, third-party plugin conflicts, or external hosts fall outside our warranty scope.
15. Limitation of Liability
SKUNKWORK™’s total liability shall not exceed the fees paid by the client for the website project. We are not liable for:
- Loss of revenue
- Search engine performance
- Security breaches on third-party systems
- Downtime caused by non-SKUNKWORK™ services
16. Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by UK law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of UK courts.
